Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering 2015, Volume 9, Issue 2,   Pages 324-333 doi: 10.1007/s11783-014-0627-3

Abstract: Aerobic granules were formed in a conventional, continuous flow, completely mixed activated sludge systemThe reactor was agitated by a stirrer, with a speed of 250 r·min , to ensure good mixing. The granularsludge had good settleability, and the sludge volume index (SVI) was between 50 and 90 mL·g .The data from the study suggested that aerobic granules could form, if provided with sufficient numbergranular sludge.
